Description

This Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan recipe transforms a classic favorite into an easy and delicious meal. Perfect for serving with pasta or enjoying on its own any day of the week.


Ingredients

¾ cup seasoned bread crumbs

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

4 small boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 5 ounces each)

1 egg, beaten

Salt and black pepper to taste

Cooking spray

1 cup marinara sauce (plus extra for serving)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Chopped fresh parsley or basil, for garnish

Pasta for serving (optional)


Instructions

  1. Combine bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning in a small bowl.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
  3. Dip chicken in beaten egg. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then coat it in the bread crumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
  4. Spray the chicken with cooking spray and place it in the air fryer.
  5. Cook for 6 minutes. Flip the chicken over and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes.
  6. Spread marinara sauce over the top of each chicken breast. Top with mozzarella and shredded Parmesan cheese.
  7. Air fry for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  8. Top with fresh herbs and serve with pasta and additional marinara sauce if desired.
