Description

These Air Fryer Fish Sticks are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and made in just 20 minutes. A healthier alternative to deep-fried fish sticks, they’re perfect for a quick, flavorful meal.


Ingredients

1 pound cod fillets

¼ cup all-purpose flour

1 egg

½ cup panko bread crumbs

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon parsley flakes

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon black pepper

Cooking spray


Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

  • Prepare the fish: Pat fish fillets dry with paper towels and cut into 1×3-inch sticks.

  • Set up the breading stations:

    • Place flour in a shallow dish.

    • Beat the egg in a separate shallow dish.

    • Combine panko, Parmesan, parsley, paprika, and black pepper in another shallow dish.

  • Coat the fish sticks: Coat each fish stick in flour, dip it in the beaten egg, and then coat in the panko mixture.

  • Air fry: Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange half the fish sticks in the basket, ensuring they don’t touch. Spray the tops with more cooking spray.

  • Cook the fish sticks: Air fry for 5 minutes, flip, and cook for another 5 minutes.

  • Repeat: Repeat with the remaining fish sticks.

  • Serve: Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as tartar or cocktail sauce.

Notes

For a spicier version, add cayenne pepper or chili powder to the breading mixture.

Try using different fish like haddock, tilapia, or pollock.

To make it gluten-free, use gluten-free panko and flour.

For extra flavor, add lemon zest to the panko mixture or sprinkle with sea salt after cooking.
