Description
This Baked Fried Chicken combines crispy, golden-brown breading with juicy, tender chicken, all without the mess of deep frying. Marinated in buttermilk and seasoned with a blend of spices, it’s a healthier and easy-to-make alternative to traditional fried chicken, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 3 cups buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon ground paprika
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose seasoning (such as Lawry’s)
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ cup fresh flat-leaf parsley (optional)
Instructions
-
Prepare the Chicken:
Cut the chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create 4 even portions. Place the chicken in a large bowl and marinate in the buttermilk for about 20 minutes. -
Make the Breading:
In a medium-sized bowl, mix the flour, paprika, all-purpose seasoning, salt, and black pepper. -
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Melt the butter and spread it on the bottom of a baking sheet. -
Bread the Chicken:
Dredge each piece of chicken in the flour mixture, ensuring it’s well coated. -
Bake the Chicken:
Arrange the breaded chicken on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). -
Garnish and Serve:
Optionally, garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
