Ingredients
1 tablespoon avocado oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 lb ground beef
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 lb shredded coleslaw mix or chopped cabbage
1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes with liquid
6 cups beef bone broth (or any broth)
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 medium bay leaves (optional)
Instructions
- Heat avocado oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook for 5 to 10 minutes until softened and lightly browned.
- Add ground beef, season with salt and black pepper, and cook over medium-high heat for 8 to 10 minutes, breaking it apart until fully browned.
- Stir in cabbage or coleslaw mix, diced tomatoes with liquid, broth, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and bay leaves.
- Mix well and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 to 60 minutes to develop flavor.
- Remove bay leaves before serving.

Add vegetables like carrots, zucchini, or green beans for extra nutrition.
Use ground turkey or chicken as a lighter alternative.
Add red pepper flakes or hot sauce for a spicier version.
