Description

Korean Banana Milk is a creamy and sweet banana-flavored drink made with fresh bananas blended with milk and sweeteners. It is served chilled and can be made with various types of milk, including dairy and plant-based options.

Ingredients

  • 35 medium overripe bananas (about 7″ long, 3 for the banana milk base and optional 3 for texture)
  • 3 2/3 cups milk (can be substituted with oat, almond, or your favorite milk choice)
  • 12 tablespoons sugar (use 1 tbsp for a less sweet version or 2 tbsp for a sweeter version)
  • 1/3 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice 3 medium bananas and place them into a large bowl or measuring cup. Optionally, finely cube 1-2 more bananas to add texture at the end.
  2. Add 2/3 cup of milk, 1-2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1/4-1/3 cup of condensed milk to the bowl or measuring cup. Optionally, add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Use an immersion blender to blend the mixture until smooth and lump-free. Adjust sweetness as needed based on the ripeness of your bananas.
  3. Pour the banana milk base into a large drink container. Add 3 cups of milk and stir with a spoon to combine. Optionally, mix in the cubed bananas now.
  4. Chill for a few hours before serving as it’s best served chilled. If you want to drink it immediately, serve it over ice.
  5. For the blender version, add 3 chopped bananas, 3 2/3 cups milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1/3 cup condensed milk, and optional 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract into a blender. Blend until smooth. For added texture, stir in the cubed bananas after blending.

Notes

  • Use between 375g – 382g of bananas for the base if using a scale.
  • Store leftover banana milk in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Leftover condensed milk can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.
  • Banana milk can be used in smoothies, cereal, or oatmeal to add banana flavor.
