Description
A fun, comforting Big Mac–inspired casserole made with seasoned creamy beef, melted Cheddar, dill pickles, and a crispy tater tot topping. An easy, nostalgic weeknight bake the whole family will love.
Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup yellow mustard
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tbsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup chopped pickles
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
1 (32-oz) package frozen tater tots
Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, pickle chips, chopped tomatoes, sesame seeds, Big Mac–style sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
- Add onion and garlic; cook until softened.
- Stir in cream cheese, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper until beef is coated and creamy.
- Fold in chopped pickles and 1 cup Cheddar.
- Spread beef mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Top with remaining Cheddar cheese.
- Arrange frozen tater tots evenly over the top.
- Bake 35–40 minutes, until tots are golden and crispy.
- Cool slightly, then add optional toppings for classic Big Mac flavor.
Notes
Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
Try Pepper Jack or Monterey Jack for extra flavor.
Add diced bell peppers or mushrooms for more texture.
Make it spicy with jalapeños or hot sauce.
Add fresh toppings after reheating to keep them crisp.
