Description

A delicious and hearty salad inspired by the flavors of a Big Mac, featuring lettuce, ground beef, cheese, tomatoes, and Thousand Island dressing.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups chopped iceberg lettuce
  • pounds very lean ground beef, browned and drained
  • 1½ cups shredded Colby Jack cheese
  • 1 cup diced Roma tomatoes
  • 1 cup sliced red onion
  • ½ cup diced dill pickles
  • Thousand Island dressing (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Add chopped lettuce to a large serving bowl.
  2. Sprinkle cooked ground beef evenly over the lettuce.
  3. Top with shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, sliced onion, and diced dill pickles. Toss gently to combine.
  4. Drizzle desired amount of Thousand Island dressing over the salad. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a healthier twist, use a low-calorie or low-fat Thousand Island dressing.
  • Make sure the ground beef is well browned and drained to avoid excess grease in the salad.
  • If desired, substitute Colby Jack cheese with another shredded cheese variety like cheddar or Monterey Jack.
  • Serve immediately after adding the dressing to keep the salad fresh and crisp.
