Easy to prepare and customizable, this appetizer is a hit for gatherings, special occasions, or a refreshing snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 ball of burrata cheese (about 4 ounces)

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (or figs, if preferred)

  • Fresh basil leaves, torn into pieces

  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze or reduction

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • Optional: Crusty bread or crostini for serving

Instructions

  • Prepare the Plate:

    • Arrange halved cherry tomatoes or figs in a small dish or plate. If using tomatoes, drizzle lightly with olive oil and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  • Add the Burrata:

    • Gently place the ball of burrata cheese in the center of the plate on top of the tomatoes or figs.

  • Add Fresh Basil:

    • Scatter torn basil leaves around the cheese and fruits for color and freshness.

  • Drizzle with Balsamic Glaze:

    • Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the top of the burrata, tomatoes, and basil. Add a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper if desired.

  • Serve:

    • Optionally, serve with crusty bread or crostini for dipping. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Fruit Variations: Swap tomatoes for figs, peaches, or watermelon depending on the season.

  • Nuts: Add toasted pine nuts, walnuts, or almonds for extra crunch.

  • Herbs: Experiment with fresh mint or oregano instead of basil for a different flavor.

  • Spicy Kick: Add chili oil or red pepper flakes for a mild heat.
