Description

A hearty, oven-baked comfort dish featuring crispy ranch-seasoned potatoes, smoky halal sausage, and melted cheddar cheese. This one-pan meal is filling, flavorful, and perfect for feeding a crowd with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

1 lb smoked sausage, sliced (halal-certified)

4 cups baby potatoes, halved or quartered

2 tbsp olive oil

1 packet ranch seasoning mix (halal-certified)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese blend)

1/2 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)

Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and cut the baby potatoes into halves or quarters for even cooking.
  3. Slice the smoked sausage into 1/4-inch rounds.
  4. In a small bowl, mix ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  5. Place potatoes in a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and toss with half of the seasoning mixture.
  6. Spread potatoes in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Scatter the sliced sausage evenly over the potatoes and sprinkle remaining seasoning on top.
  8. Roast for 35–40 minutes, stirring halfway through, until potatoes are golden and tender.
  9. Remove from oven and sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.
  10. Return to the oven for about 5 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot, with sour cream if desired.

Notes

Spread ingredients in a single layer to ensure crispy potatoes.

Use fresh potatoes for best texture.

Add bell peppers or onions for extra vegetables.

Reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.

Check ranch seasoning for halal certification.
