Description

Creamy Chicken Divan is a comforting classic casserole made with tender chicken, vibrant broccoli, and a rich, creamy sauce topped with a golden breadcrumb crust, perfect for family meals or gatherings.


Ingredients

4 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed (halal)

2 cups broccoli florets, steamed or blanched

1 cup mayonnaise (halal-certified)

1 cup sour cream (halal-certified)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (halal-certified)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt, or to taste

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 cup breadcrumbs (halal-certified)

2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange the cooked chicken evenly in the baking dish and layer the broccoli on top.
  3. In a large bowl, mix mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and lemon juice until smooth.
  4. Stir in the cheddar cheese and Parmesan until well combined.
  5. Pour the creamy sauce evenly over the chicken and broccoli.
  6. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter or olive oil.
  7. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the casserole.
  8. Bake for 45–55 minutes, until the top is golden and the sauce is bubbling.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use leftover roasted or grilled chicken for convenience.

Olive oil can replace butter for a lighter topping.

Add mushrooms or cauliflower for extra vegetables.
