Description
Creamy Cilantro Lime Chicken is a flavorful, easy-to-make dish that combines tender chicken breasts with a luscious, creamy sauce infused with fresh cilantro and tangy lime.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs or 680 g)
1 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
1/4 cup lime juice (about 2–3 limes)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and season with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear them for 6-7 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside. In the same skillet, sauté the minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the chicken broth and lime juice to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Stir in the heavy cream and chopped cilantro, letting the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes until it slightly thickens.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Plate the chicken breasts, drizzle with the creamy sauce, and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
This dish pairs well with rice, quinoa, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
If you prefer a lighter version, swap the heavy cream with half-and-half.
For a dairy-free version, replace the heavy cream with coconut cream.
To make the sauce thicker, simmer it for a few extra minutes or add cornstarch mixed with water.
