Description

Crostini with Mushrooms is a simple yet flavorful appetizer featuring crispy baguette slices topped with a savory mushroom mixture and melted cheese. Perfect for any gathering, it combines the richness of sautéed mushrooms with the savory goodness of cheese, all on crunchy toasted bread.


Ingredients

1 baguette, cut into approximately 1/2-inch slices

4 garlic cloves, minced

8 medium mushrooms, washed and chopped

3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

7 slices of cheddar cheese (or mozzarella cheese), cut into half

2 tablespoons dried oregano leaves

Salt & black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
  2. Add the chopped mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for 5 minutes, allowing them to soften.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high, then add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Cook uncovered until the liquid is fully absorbed.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  5. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet. Place half a slice of cheese on each slice of bread.
  6. Top the cheese with the sautéed mushroom mixture. Sprinkle with dried oregano.
  7. Bake in the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 10 minutes.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!
