Description

A soft and moist coffee cake made with apple pie filling and warm cinnamon flavors, finished with a sweet glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or an easy dessert.


Ingredients

1 package white cake mix (15.25 oz)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 cup sour cream

3 eggs

1/4 cup water

1 can apple pie filling (21 oz)

1 cup confectioners’ sugar

1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons whole milk


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the cake mix, cinnamon, sour cream, eggs, and water. Mix until smooth and well blended.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  4. Spoon the apple pie filling over the top of the batter.
  5. Bake for 35 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the confectioners’ sugar and milk until smooth, adjusting consistency as needed.
  8. Drizzle the glaze over the cake and allow it to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

Add chopped pecans or walnuts for extra crunch.

Mix in a pinch of nutmeg or apple pie spice for deeper flavor.

Add a splash of vanilla extract to the glaze for richness.

Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Warm slices in the microwave for 10–15 seconds before serving.

Freeze without glaze for best texture and thaw before serving.
