Ingredients

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.3 lbs total)

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon lemon pepper seasoning

1 tablespoon cooking oil

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 cup chicken broth

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

1/8 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper


Instructions

  • Prep the Chicken: Slice each chicken breast horizontally to create two thinner fillets (you’ll end up with 4 pieces total).

  • Coat the Chicken: In a bowl, combine the flour and lemon pepper seasoning. Rub the mixture onto both sides of each chicken piece until fully coated.

  • Cook the Chicken: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for about 5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm.

  • Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add butter and garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Add chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits. Stir in lemon juice and simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly reduced.

  • Finish & Serve: Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the sauce over the top, and garnish with cracked black pepper and parsley if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

Use boneless, skinless chicken thighs for a juicier alternative.

Add red pepper flakes for heat or a splash of cream for a richer sauce.

A gluten-free flour substitute works just as well for the coating.
