Description

French Onion Beef Casserole is a creamy, hearty dish made with tender egg noodles, savory ground beef, and rich French onion flavor, topped with crispy fried onions. It is a comforting and easy-to-make meal perfect for busy nights.

Ingredients

10 ounces dried egg noodles

1 pound lean ground beef

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cans (10.75 ounces each) condensed cream of mushroom soup

1 (15 ounce) jar French onion dip

1/2 cup fried onions

Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package directions, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper and drain excess grease.
  4. Add cream of mushroom soup and French onion dip to the skillet. Stir until well combined.
  5. Fold in the cooked egg noodles until evenly coated in the sauce.
  6. Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle fried onions over the top.
  8. Bake uncovered for about 20 minutes until heated through and the top is crispy.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.

Add vegetables like mushrooms, peas, or green beans for extra nutrition.

Top with shredded cheese before baking for a cheesy variation.

Add a splash of Worcestershire sauce for deeper flavor.

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Freeze for up to 2 months and thaw before reheating.
