Description
Fried Oreos are a crispy, golden dessert with a warm, gooey Oreo center, dusted with powdered sugar for the ultimate indulgence. Easy to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
1 package of Oreo cookies (family size preferred)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup milk (whole or 2% for best results)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Chocolate syrup (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions
- Heat the Oil: In a deep skillet or pot, pour enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom with about 2 inches of oil. Heat over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together. Add milk and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
- Coat the Oreos: Dip each Oreo into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated on both sides. Let any excess batter drip off.
- Fry the Oreos: Carefully place the battered Oreos into the hot oil in batches. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove and Drain: Use a slotted spoon to remove fried Oreos and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Dusting: While still warm, dust the fried Oreos with powdered sugar.
- Serve: Allow to cool for a minute and serve immediately for the best experience.
Notes
For a richer flavor, drizzle with chocolate syrup.
Experiment with different Oreo flavors like mint, peanut butter, or birthday cake for a fun twist.
For a cinnamon-sugar version, dust with cinnamon sugar instead of powdered sugar.
Best served fresh, but can be stored for up to 1 day at room temperature.
