Description

A healthy and delicious dessert combining cocoa, banana, and oats, perfect for a nutritious snack or treat.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups (120 g) rolled oats
  • 1 cup (250 ml) hot milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 2 medium ripe bananas
  • 2 eggs or vegan substitute (like flax eggs)
  • 4 tablespoons (45 g) cocoa or carob powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ⅓ cup (40 g) chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, almonds)

Instructions

  1. Soak the rolled oats in hot milk in a large bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes to soften and bind.
  2. In a separate bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Add eggs or flax eggs and mix well.
  3. Stir cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt into the banana mixture.
  4. Pour the banana cocoa mixture into the soaked oats and stir until fully blended.
  5. Fold in the chopped nuts gently.
  6. Pour batter into a greased or parchment-lined baking dish.
  7. Bake at 180°C (360°F) for about 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Replace eggs with flax eggs for a vegan option.
  • Use plant-based milk to make it completely vegan.
  • Add a sprinkle of chocolate chips or dried fruits for extra flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
