Description

Heart-Shaped Breadsticks are a fun and delicious way to add a touch of love to any meal. Soft, buttery, and flavored with garlic, Parmesan, and a sprinkle of parsley, these adorable breadsticks are perfect for special occasions or everyday meals.

Ingredients

1 can refrigerated pizza dough (approx. 13.8 oz)

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder)

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (or 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning)

Pinch of salt

Optional: Red pepper flakes for garnish

Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll Out the Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a 1/4-inch thick rectangle.
  3. Cut the Dough: Cut the dough into strips, about 1 inch wide and 8 inches long.
  4. Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Brush the Dough: Lightly brush each dough strip with the garlic butter mixture to coat evenly.
  6. Shape the Breadsticks: Fold each strip in half lengthwise, twist the two halves together, and curl the ends inward to form a heart shape. Pinch the bottom to secure.
  7. Place on Baking Sheet: Place the shaped dough hearts on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart.
  8. Brush and Top: Brush the tops with more garlic butter and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Add red pepper flakes for extra heat, if desired.
  9. Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  10. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

Dough Options: Use homemade dough instead of refrigerated pizza dough if preferred.

Herb Variations: Substitute parsley with dried Italian seasoning or oregano for a different flavor.

Spicy Kick: Add red pepper flakes or chili powder to the garlic butter for extra heat.

Serving Suggestions: Serve as a side for pasta, pizza, or salads. Perfect for dipping in marinara or ranch.
