Description

This Homemade BBQ Chicken Pizza combines tangy barbecue sauce, smoky gouda, melty mozzarella, and tender shredded chicken for an irresistible twist on pizza night. Easy to prepare with pre-cooked chicken and a simple pizza dough, this delicious dish is perfect for any occasion and will quickly become a family favorite.

Ingredients

For the Pizza:

Pizza dough (enough for two 12-inch pizzas, or use half for one pizza)

1/3 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite type)

1 cup cooked chicken (shredded or chopped)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup smoked gouda cheese (shredded)

1/4 cup red onion (thinly sliced)

Fresh cilantro for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).

  • Prepare the Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to a 12-inch circle.

  • Assemble the Pizza:

    • Place the dough on a greased pizza pan or baking sheet.

    • Spread a thin layer of BBQ sauce over the dough.

    • Layer the cooked chicken evenly over the BBQ sauce.

    • Sprinkle both mozzarella and smoked gouda cheese on top of the chicken.

    • Add the thinly sliced red onions on top.

  • Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Finish and Serve:

    • Remove from the oven and sprinkle fresh cilantro on top.

    • Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

Add More Veggies: Feel free to add extra veggies like bell peppers, mushrooms, or spinach for a more colorful and nutrient-packed pizza.

Make it Spicy: Add sliced jalapeños for a spicy kick.

Cheese Substitution: Swap smoked gouda for cheddar, provolone, or any cheese of your choice for a different flavor profile.

Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free pizza dough for a gluten-free version.
