Description

These Homemade Cinnamon Bites are a delicious and simple dessert, perfect for any occasion. With a crispy exterior and soft, warm interior, they’re coated in a sweet cinnamon sugar mixture and drizzled with a rich glaze.

Ingredients

1 tube refrigerated biscuit dough

½ cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Glaze:

½ cup powdered sugar

1 to 2 tablespoons milk

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Separate the biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters or bite-sized pieces. Set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Stir well to mix evenly.
  3. Pour vegetable oil into a pot or deep skillet, filling it to a depth of about 2 to 3 inches. Heat to 350°F.
  4. Carefully drop the biscuit dough pieces into the hot oil in small batches, turning occasionally for even browning. Fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain excess oil on a paper towel-lined plate.
  5. While still warm, roll each fried bite in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze. Adjust milk for desired consistency.
  7. Drizzle the glaze over the cinnamon bites or serve it on the side for dipping.

Notes

Add a pinch of cinnamon or orange zest to the glaze for extra flavor.

For a fall-inspired version, use apple pie spice instead of cinnamon.

For a healthier option, bake the cinnamon bites instead of frying.
