Description
These Homemade Cinnamon Bites are a delicious and simple dessert, perfect for any occasion. With a crispy exterior and soft, warm interior, they’re coated in a sweet cinnamon sugar mixture and drizzled with a rich glaze.
Ingredients
1 tube refrigerated biscuit dough
½ cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Vegetable oil (for frying)
For the Glaze:
½ cup powdered sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons milk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Separate the biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters or bite-sized pieces. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Stir well to mix evenly.
- Pour vegetable oil into a pot or deep skillet, filling it to a depth of about 2 to 3 inches. Heat to 350°F.
- Carefully drop the biscuit dough pieces into the hot oil in small batches, turning occasionally for even browning. Fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain excess oil on a paper towel-lined plate.
- While still warm, roll each fried bite in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze. Adjust milk for desired consistency.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cinnamon bites or serve it on the side for dipping.
Notes
Add a pinch of cinnamon or orange zest to the glaze for extra flavor.
For a fall-inspired version, use apple pie spice instead of cinnamon.
For a healthier option, bake the cinnamon bites instead of frying.
