Description
Honey Garlic Chili Fried Wings are ultra-crispy, juicy chicken wings built with layers of flavor—grilled for smokiness, fried for crunch, and finished in a sticky honey-garlic chili glaze that’s sweet, savory, and addictive.
Ingredients
2 lbs chicken wings
1.5 tablespoons honey garlic chili seasoning
1.5 limes, juiced
2 teaspoons canola oil
2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1.5 tablespoons honey garlic chili seasoning (for dredging)
1 quart canola oil (for frying)
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
Sliced scallions, for garnish
Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
Lime wedges, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, toss chicken wings with honey garlic chili seasoning, lime juice, and canola oil until evenly coated.
- Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to marinate.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F).
- Grill wings for 4–5 minutes per side until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Remove wings from grill and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Heat a deep skillet or dutch oven with canola oil to 350°F.
- Dredge cooled wings in flour mixed with honey garlic chili seasoning, shaking off excess.
- Fry wings in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.
- In a small skillet, gently warm honey and chili garlic sauce until smooth.
- Toss fried wings in the warm glaze until evenly coated.
- Garnish with scallions, sesame seeds, and lime wedges before serving.
Notes
Grilling first adds smoky flavor and helps render fat.
Use a thermometer to ensure wings reach 165°F before frying.
Reheat leftovers in an oven or air fryer to restore crispness.
Adjust chili garlic sauce for desired heat.
