1 pound ground beef
1 cup cooked elbow macaroni
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
Salt and pepper to taste
4 hamburger buns
Butter for toasting buns
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, gently combine the ground beef, cooked macaroni, shredded cheddar cheese, milk, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper until just mixed.
- Shape the mixture into 4 evenly sized patties, pressing firmly so they hold together.
- Grill the patties for 5–7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked through and browned on the outside.
- Butter the hamburger buns and toast them on the grill until golden. Assemble the burgers and add desired toppings before serving.
Notes
Avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.
Cook to an internal temperature of 160°F for safe consumption.
Substitute ground turkey if desired, adjusting cook time as needed.
Bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, if not grilling.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze uncooked patties for up to 2 months.
