Description

Marinated Greek Beef Souvlaki Skewers (Beef Kabobs) are the perfect grilled dish that combines juicy beef, Mediterranean flavors, and a smoky char. Marinated in olive oil, lemon, garlic, honey, and paprika, these skewers are an easy-to-make, flavorful treat that’s perfect for summer grilling or weeknight dinners. Serve with tzatziki and pita for a delicious and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

1.5 pounds beef (top sirloin, ribeye, or fillet mignon), cut into 1.5-inch cubes

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons lemon juice

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon dried oregano

1 tablespoon honey

1 teaspoon hot paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh thyme or thyme leaves (optional, for garnish)

Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions

  • Make the Marinade: In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, honey, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.

  • Marinate the Beef: Add beef cubes to the marinade and mix until the beef is evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (overnight for best flavor).

  • Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill or griddle pan to medium-high heat.

  • Prepare the Skewers: Thread marinated beef cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers, leaving some space between each piece for even cooking.

  • Grill the Skewers: Grill the beef skewers for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness.

  • Serve: Remove the skewers from the grill, garnish with fresh thyme or herbs, and serve hot.

Notes

Storage: Store leftover skewers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Vegetable Additions: Add bell peppers, onions, or zucchini to the skewers for extra flavor and color.

Spice Level: Adjust paprika for a milder or spicier dish depending on your preference.
