Description

These Nutella Banana Muffins are the perfect combination of moist, ripe bananas and rich, chocolatey Nutella swirls. Easy to make and incredibly delicious, these muffins are great for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet snack. Whether you’re indulging in a warm muffin fresh out of the oven or saving one for later, this recipe is a must-try!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup Nutella

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or grease with non-stick spray.

Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3: Prepare Wet Mixture

  1. In a separate large bowl, mash the bananas.
  2. Add the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

Step 4: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

  1. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 5: Fill Muffin Cups

  1. Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about ¾ full.

Step 6: Add Nutella Swirl

  1. Place a teaspoon of Nutella on top of each muffin.
  2. Use a toothpick or knife to swirl the Nutella into the batter, creating a marbled effect.

Step 7: Bake and Cool

  1. Bake for 17-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Banana Ripeness: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful the muffins will be.
  • Preventing Nutella from Sinking: Swirling Nutella on top ensures it stays on the surface rather than sinking to the bottom.
  • Lighter Texture: Use half whole wheat and half all-purpose flour for a slightly denser but still soft muffin.
