Description

Patriotic Mini Parfaits are a simple and healthy dessert featuring layers of creamy yogurt, fresh strawberries, blueberries, and granola. Perfect for any festive occasion, especially patriotic holidays, they are quick to make and customizable.

Ingredients

2 cups vanilla yogurt (or Greek yogurt)

1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced

1 cup blueberries

1 cup granola

2 tablespoons honey (optional)

Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Wash the strawberries and blueberries thoroughly. Hull and slice the strawberries.
  2. Choose Your Cups: Select individual cups or clear glasses for serving.
  3. Layer Yogurt: Spoon a layer of yogurt (about 1/4 cup) into the bottom of each cup.
  4. Add Strawberries: Layer a handful of sliced strawberries over the yogurt.
  5. Layer Granola: Add a layer of granola on top of the strawberries, approximately 2 tablespoons.
  6. Add Blueberries: Layer a handful of blueberries on top of the granola.
  7. Repeat Layers: Repeat the layers of yogurt, strawberries, granola, and blueberries until your cup is filled, leaving space at the top for garnish.
  8. Drizzle Honey (Optional): If desired, drizzle a bit of honey over the top layer for added sweetness.
  9. Garnish: Finish with a sprig of fresh mint for a pop of color and freshness.
  10. Chill (Optional): If time allows, refrigerate the parfaits for about an hour before serving to let the flavors meld.

Notes

Yogurt Options: Swap out vanilla yogurt for Greek yogurt for a thicker, tangier base.

Granola Options: Use flavored or sweetened granola for added flavor.

Berry Swaps: If strawberries or blueberries aren’t in season, try raspberries, blackberries, or even kiwi for a colorful twist.

Dairy-Free Option: Use coconut yogurt or almond milk yogurt for a dairy-free version.
