Ingredients
- ¼ cup butter
- 4½ to 5 cups mini marshmallows (about half of a 16-ounce bag)
- ½ cup milk chocolate chips
- ¼ cup creamy peanut butter
- 4 cups chow mein noodles
- 54 Mini Cadbury Eggs (approximately two-thirds of a bag)
Instructions
Step 1: Melt Butter and Marshmallows
- In a large, non-stick stockpot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
Step 2: Incorporate Chocolate and Peanut Butter
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in the milk chocolate chips and creamy peanut butter. Continue stirring until fully melted and combined.
- Remove the pot from heat.
Step 3: Add Chow Mein Noodles
- Gently fold in the chow mein noodles, making sure they are evenly coated with the chocolate-peanut butter mixture.
Step 4: Shape the Nests
- Line a baking sheet with wax paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared sheet. Wet your fingers with cold water to prevent sticking, then shape each portion into a nest by creating a small indentation in the center.
Step 5: Add Candy Eggs
- While the nests are still warm, place three Mini Cadbury Eggs in the center of each nest, pressing gently so they adhere.
Step 6: Cool and Set
- Allow the nests to cool completely at room temperature until firm.
Notes
- Alternative Mix-Ins: Swap out chow mein noodles for pretzel sticks, cornflakes, or crispy rice cereal for a different texture and flavor.
- Toppings: Use jelly beans, M&Ms, or any other small candy instead of Mini Cadbury Eggs to customize for different holidays or events.
- Chocolate Variation: For a richer taste, use dark chocolate chips in place of milk chocolate.
