Description

Warm, creamy banana porridge made with rolled oats, naturally sweetened bananas, and a touch of cinnamon for a comforting, nourishing breakfast.


Ingredients

2 1/2 cups water

1 cup rolled oats

1 tbsp white sugar (optional, to taste)

1 tsp salt (optional, to taste)

2 bananas, sliced

1 pinch ground cinnamon

1/2 cup cold milk (optional, for serving)


Instructions

  1. Add water and rolled oats to a medium saucepan.
  2. Stir in sugar and salt, if using.
  3. Add sliced bananas and ground cinnamon.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring frequently, until oats are soft and creamy and liquid is absorbed (about 8–10 minutes).
  6. Remove from heat once the porridge reaches your preferred consistency.
  7. Divide into bowls and finish with a splash of cold milk if desired.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

Overripe bananas add extra natural sweetness.

Stir frequently to prevent sticking.

Add more water or milk if porridge becomes too thick.

Great base for toppings like nuts, seeds, or honey.
