Description
Ricotta Pistachio Honey Bites are a crispy, creamy treat with a rich ricotta filling, crunchy pistachios, and a touch of honey, perfect for a snack or dessert.
Ingredients
1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
1/3 cup crushed pistachios
3 tablespoons honey plus more for drizzling
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 egg (beaten)
1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
Neutral oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, crushed pistachios, 3 tablespoons of honey, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
- Chill the mixture for 15–20 minutes until it firms up and is easier to handle.
- Scoop the mixture and roll it into 14 small balls.
- Coat each ball in flour, dip it into the beaten egg, and then roll it in the Panko breadcrumbs.
- Heat the oil in a pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the balls in batches for about 2–3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Remove the bites from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Drizzle with honey before serving for that extra touch of sweetness.
Notes
Swap pistachios for almonds, walnuts, or hazelnuts for a different nutty flavor.
Replace honey with maple syrup or agave syrup for a vegan alternative.
For baking, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Add a pinch of cinnamon or cardamom for a spiced flavor.
