Description
A simple, homemade strawberry syrup made with just three ingredients—perfect for elevating beverages or desserts.
Ingredients
1 cup water
1 cup white sugar
2 cups quartered strawberries
Instructions
- Combine the water and sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir occasionally until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Add the quartered strawberries to the saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, until the strawberries are mushy and the syrup has thickened.
- Strain the mixture to remove the strawberry solids and transfer the liquid to a bottle or jar.
- Refrigerate the syrup once it’s cooled down.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
If the syrup thickens too much in the fridge, reheat it gently on low heat or in the microwave.
Can be made with frozen strawberries, just thaw before use.
Can be flavored with mint, cinnamon, or raspberries for a unique twist.
