Description

Steak Kebabs are juicy, marinated steak cubes grilled with colorful vegetables for a smoky, flavorful meal. The sweet and savory marinade caramelizes beautifully, making these kebabs perfect for barbecues, family dinners, or summer gatherings.

Ingredients

1/4 cup olive oil

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

2 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon honey

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 3/4 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1 1/4-inch pieces

8 oz button or cremini mushrooms, halved

3 bell peppers (red, green, yellow), cut into 1 1/4-inch pieces

1 large red onion, cut into 1 1/4-inch chunks

1 tablespoon olive oil (for vegetables)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

10 wooden skewers, soaked in water for at least 30 minutes

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, honey, Dijon mustard, garlic, and black pepper until combined.
  2. Place steak cubes in a resealable bag, pour in the marinade, seal, and refrigerate for 3–6 hours.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 425°F) and clean the grates.
  4. Toss mushrooms, bell peppers, and onion with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  5. Thread steak and vegetables alternately onto skewers, using about 4 pieces of steak per skewer.
  6. Oil the grill grates lightly and grill kebabs for 8–9 minutes, turning occasionally, until steak reaches 140–145°F for medium doneness.
  7. Rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs or a squeeze of lemon if desired.

Notes

Add zucchini or cherry tomatoes for extra color and variety.

For spice, add cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the marinade.

Use ribeye or tenderloin for a more tender texture.

To make gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari.

These kebabs can be baked at 425°F for 15–20 minutes if grilling isn’t an option.
