Description

Ingredients

2 large chicken breasts (butterflied or pounded to 1-inch thickness)

1 cup grated parmesan cheese

1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg, beaten

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup marinara sauce or Alfredo sauce

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease with olive oil.

  • Butterfly or pound chicken breasts to about 1-inch thickness and pat dry.

  • In a shallow bowl, whisk the egg. In another shallow bowl, combine parmesan, breadcrumbs, and minced garlic.

  • Dip chicken in egg, then press into breadcrumb-parmesan mixture until fully coated.

  • Place chicken on prepared baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F.

  • While chicken bakes, warm marinara or Alfredo sauce in a saucepan over low heat.

  • Once chicken is done, spoon warm sauce over chicken, garnish with parsley, and serve.

Notes

Boneless Thighs: You can use boneless skinless chicken thighs, adjusting the cooking time slightly.

Sauce Variations: Swap marinara for BBQ sauce, pesto, or creamy garlic sauce for a different flavor profile.

Cheese Variations: Use mozzarella or a blend of parmesan and Asiago for extra flavor.
