Ingredients
1 1/2 cups raw unsalted sunflower seeds
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 large eggs
1 pre-made 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Fit the pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan and crimp the edges.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sunflower seeds, sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt. Stir until smooth and well blended.
- Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust and spread evenly.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the center is slightly set.
- Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
Toast the sunflower seeds before mixing for a deeper flavor.
Swirl in a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup for extra richness.
