Ingredients
- 10 chicken drumsticks
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil.
- In a bowl, mix together barbecue sauce, honey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Pat the chicken drumsticks dry and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the chicken generously with half of the sauce mixture.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then flip the drumsticks and brush with more sauce.
- Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Brush with remaining sauce before serving, if desired.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken is cooked to the proper internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- For a spicier version, add some chili powder or hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
- This dish pairs well with coleslaw, potato salad, or cornbread.
