Description

A hearty, cheesy copycat of the Taco Bell Beefy 5-Layer Burrito made at home with seasoned beef, refried beans, nacho cheese, and sour cream wrapped in a soft flour tortilla.


Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 packet taco seasoning

1 can (15 oz) refried beans

1 cup nacho cheese sauce

1 cup sour cream

4 large flour tortillas

1 cup shredded cheese (Mexican blend or cheddar)

Diced tomatoes (optional)

Lettuce (optional)

Jalapeños (optional)


Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add taco seasoning and the recommended amount of water. Simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  3. Warm the refried beans in a small pot over low heat, stirring occasionally.
  4. Lay tortillas flat on a clean surface.
  5. Spread about 1/4 cup refried beans onto each tortilla.
  6. Layer with seasoned beef, nacho cheese sauce, sour cream, and shredded cheese.
  7. Add optional toppings if desired.
  8. Fold in the sides and roll the tortillas tightly into burritos.
  9. Optional: Place burritos seam-side down in a hot skillet and cook 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden.
  10. Let cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

Use large, soft tortillas to prevent tearing.

Avoid watery beans to keep burritos from getting soggy.

Can be frozen tightly wrapped for later use.

Ground turkey or plant-based crumbles can be substituted.
