Ingredients
- 1 pound Ore-Ida Extra Crispy Frozen Fast Food Fries
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- For the seasoning mixture:
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- For the cheese sauce:
- 16 slices American cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon liquid from the jar of jalapeño slices
Instructions
- In a small bowl, stir together all the seasoning mixture ingredients and set aside.
- Fill a saucepan with at least 3 inches of vegetable oil and heat to 350°F (180°C).
- Fry the frozen fries in the hot oil over medium-high heat for 6 to 8 minutes, or until crispy and golden. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Let the fries cool slightly while you prepare the cheese sauce.
- Tear the American cheese slices into smaller pieces and place them in a microwave-safe bowl with the milk and jalapeño liquid.
- Microwave uncovered in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the cheese is fully melted and smooth.
- Toss the fries in the seasoning mixture until well coated.
- Serve the seasoned fries with the cheese sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy!
Notes
- Cayenne pepper is optional; adjust based on personal spice preferences.
- For a spicier cheese sauce, add more jalapeño liquid to taste.
- Ensure the oil is at the proper temperature (350°F) before frying to achieve maximum crispiness.
- Microwave cheese sauce in short intervals to prevent overcooking.
