Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
½ cup milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
Salt & pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Heat the mixture until everything is well combined and warmed through.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture, then arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35-40 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
- Allow the casserole to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding garlic powder or Worcestershire sauce to the beef mixture.
To lighten the dish, use ground turkey instead of ground beef.
