Homemade KFC Chicken made in the oven to achieve crispy and flavorful results, marinated in buttermilk and coated with a seasoned flour mix.


Ingredients

  • 8 chicken drumsticks or thighs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp cayenne (optional)
  • Olive oil spray or melted butter

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  2. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour and all spices.
  4. Remove chicken from buttermilk, shake off excess, and coat in seasoned flour.
