Description

Buttery, flaky upside-down brie bites baked with honey under the cheese for a caramelized, glossy finish. Elegant, gooey, and incredibly easy—perfect for entertaining or holiday appetizers.

Ingredients

8 mini brie rounds

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

1/4 cup honey, divided (plus more for drizzling)

1 large egg, beaten

Finely chopped fresh chives

Instructions

  1. Roll out the thawed puff pastry until about 1½ times its original size. Using a 3½-inch round cutter, cut 8 pastry circles.
  2. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper. Place 1/2 Tbsp honey dollops in 8 evenly spaced spots.
  3. Score the tops of the mini brie rounds and place one over each honey dollop.
  4. Wrap each brie tightly with a pastry round, molding it to fully enclose the cheese.
  5. Pinch the edges with a fork to help prevent excessive puffing.
  6. Brush each wrapped bite with beaten egg.
  7. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes, until golden brown.
  8. Transfer to a platter, sprinkle with chives, and drizzle with extra honey before serving.

Notes

Add jam such as fig, raspberry, or apricot under the brie.

Top with crushed pistachios or pecans for crunch.

Use hot honey for a spicy twist.

Add a thin slice of apple or pear beneath the brie.

Sprinkle fresh thyme or rosemary for an aromatic finish.
