Description

A simple and elegant whole baked fish recipe infused with lemon, garlic, and herbs. Tender, flaky, and comforting, it’s perfect for a healthy family dinner or a special meal without the fuss.

Ingredients

1 whole fish (about 2 pounds)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 lemon, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

Fresh herbs (such as parsley or dill)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Clean and gut the fish if necessary.
  3. Rub the fish with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stuff the fish with lemon slices, garlic, and fresh herbs.
  5. Place the fish on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Serve hot with additional lemon wedges.

Notes

Switch up herbs with rosemary or thyme for variation.

Add chili slices for a hint of heat.

Stuff with olives, fennel, onions, or tomatoes for extra flavor.

Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Reheat gently in the oven at 300°F, or enjoy cold in salads.

Wrap in foil instead of parchment to lock in extra moisture.
