Description

Spicy Italian Crescent Ring is a warm, golden appetizer or easy dinner filled with spicy Italian meats, melty provolone, tangy pepperoncini, and mustard wrapped in flaky crescent dough. It’s perfect for parties, game days, or a satisfying family meal.

Ingredients

2 (8 oz) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough

1/4 cup spicy brown mustard or Dijon mustard

8 slices provolone cheese

8 slices spicy salami

8 slices hot capicola

8 slices pepperoni

1/4 cup sliced pepperoncini, drained

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

1 large egg, beaten

1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles and arrange them in a circle on the baking sheet with the wide ends overlapping in the center and the pointed ends facing outward.
  3. Spread the mustard evenly over the wide ends of the dough near the center.
  4. Layer the provolone cheese over the mustard.
  5. Arrange the salami, capicola, and pepperoni evenly around the ring.
  6. Scatter the drained pepperoncini over the meats and sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes if using.
  7. Bring each pointed end of dough over the filling and tuck it underneath the center to form a sealed ring.
  8. Brush the dough with the beaten egg, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning.
  9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the dough is golden brown and fully cooked.
  10. Let the ring rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving warm with marinara or extra mustard if desired.

Notes

Drain the pepperoncini well to prevent a soggy filling.

For a milder version, use regular salami, mild capicola, and omit the red pepper flakes.

Mozzarella can be substituted for provolone.

Serve with warm marinara or mustard for dipping.

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in a 350°F oven for the best texture.

Freeze cooled portions for up to 2 months and thaw before reheating.
